‘Raja Di Hati Rakyat’ Exhibition

 

In conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 75th birthday celebration, the Information Department is organising the ‘Raja Di Hati Rakyat’ Exhibition. It is open to the public from 11 in the morning to 9 at night at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital.

 

RTB in an interview with Awang Haji Ariffin bin Mohd Noor/Morshidi, the exhibition’s joint secretariat explained that 100 photographs contributed by photographers from the Information Department and Brunei Darussalam Photography Association will be displayed during the 3-day exhibition. The public will be able to view the golden moments captured by the country’s talented photographers.

Souq Al-Qudwah 2.0 Expo

The last day of Souq Al-Qudwah 2.0 yesterday was filled by various competitions and activities.

 

Themed ‘Memperkasa Muallafprenuers’, the expo aimed to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to introduce their products and services to the public as well as to enhance their quality as a successful entrepreneur. It is a sales networking platform and market strategy as well as self-identity capacity building in empowering self -employment among the community.

Islamic Poetry Declamation

The Souq Al-Qudwah 2.0 Expo continued with the Islamic Poetry Declamation, 31st July night. The event held at the Airport Mall was to support and enliven ‘Muallafpreneurs’ activities aside from propagating Islamic da’wah and eminence through Islamic Poetry.

 

The activities include a Poetry Declamation, a Poetry Declamation competition, Syair declamation and drama sketches. Among those present was Awang Haji Mohamad Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The expo was organised by the Islamic Da’wah Centre with the support of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD.

Festive Stage Performances

The Festive Stage performances held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 75th birthday celebration continued on 31st July night.

 

The festive stage in the capital was highlighted by the ‘Malam Jalinan Nada Seri Keputeraan’. It was organised by the Kampung Kulapis and Kampung Jerudong ‘A’ Consultative Councils.

 

Meanwhile the Islamic Aspiration Night Performance was held at the Tutong District’s Festive Stage. The performance was conducted by Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School.

 

A forum titled ‘Raja Kesayangan Rakyat’ further enlivened the festive stage at Bangar Town wharf in Temburong District. The forum among others touched on His Majesty’s sovereignty and wisdom as a renowned Islamic leader. It was organised by the Temburong District Religious Affairs Office.

Mosque Arson Suspects Arrested

 

A fire that gutted a mosque at the Mentiri National Housing Scheme in 2017, has brought about the arrests of two individuals for investigation. The two suspects, a local man and woman; 39-year-old Mohd Erwan bin Manggis, and Efarizah binti Zakaria, aged 43, are believed to have been involved in the incident.

 

The first suspect, Mohd Erwan bin Manggis was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Intermediate Court to face charges under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 for mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage. The suspect was also charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 for theft at a rented house in Kampung Lumapas in March 2021. Mohd Erwan bin Manggis pleaded guilty to both charges and the next hearing will be held on the 17th of August 2021 for sentencing. The court has ordered for the defendant to be remanded until the mention date. For the second suspect, investigation is ongoing to gather evidence on the suspect’s involvement.

Youth Catalysts of Nation Development

 

Youth development programmes continue to be given serious attention by the government including capacity building programmes, infrastructural facilities, as well as physical and mental assistance.  These are to shape youths into a quality and productive workforce. As invaluable assets, youths are the successors who will continue the nation’s development and are the most important workforce. In conjunction with His Majesty’s 75th birthday anniversary celebration, tonight we bring you a special report on the aspirations of youths in achieving one of the objectives of Wawasan Brunei 2035 which is educated and highly skilled citizens.

 

Youths of quality and excellence from the aspect of worldly and spiritual education is seriously needed by the country. Various programmes are implemented by the government towards producing youths of quality among them empowering youth education with a quality education system, including entrepreneurship and community.

 

Apart from being highly competitive, today’s youths have also pioneered various new fields, which are able to generate creativity and innovation as well as assist the country’s socio-economy.

 

Synonymous with the title as the determiner of the country’s future, it is important for youths to have strong minds and self-esteem in facing future challenges.

 

Youth involvement in various volunteer and community service programmes proves that Bruneian youths are attentive and responsible. This can be seen when the country was facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The role of youths in together developing the country is seriously required. Thus, youths need to be more proactive and rise up as the drivers of nation development.

The Citizens’ and Residents’ Loyalty

 

The loyalty of the citizens and residents towards the monarch was clearly seen during the Get-Together Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents of Brunei Muara District yesterday morning.

 

As part of precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, the attendees were required to adhere to the stipulated guidelines. All walks of life in Brunei Muara District expressed their gratitude for being able to meet the beloved Monarch during at the ceremony.

Joyous Get-Together Ceremony

The joyousness of the Get-Together Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents of Brunei Muara District can be felt when His Majesty visited the special tents. The close ties between the monarch and his subjects have made the ceremony a memorable one. Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty’s sons and brothers: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

 

As in the Get-Together Ceremony with citizens and residents in the other districts, the Brunei Muara District also celebrated the ceremony in a harmonious atmosphere. Citizens and residents had begun gathering in the capital as early as 7 in the morning to meet the beloved monarch.

 

The Transformation Products under One Village One Product or 1K1P were among the highlights. The lively atmosphere can be felt despite being conducted in the new normal. Civil servants, associations, chambers of commerce, financial institutions, non-governmental organisations and private sectors were among the attendees at the get-together ceremony.

 

The public also took the opportunity to capture memorable and meaningful moments with the beloved monarch. The presence of His Majesty at the Get-Together and Junjung Ziarah Ceremony with the citizens and residents is a historic moment that will not be forgotten by the residents.

 

For students studying abroad, the ceremony is an opportunity for them to express their thanks and gratefulness to the caring monarch. The presence of the Chinese Community proves their solid support of His Majesty’s leadership. Such an opportunity will remain as a tradition symbolising the closeness between the monarch and his subjects.

 

His Majesty and the Royal Family then proceeded to the Dewan Persantapan Lapau for a luncheon. Doa selamat was read by Awang Haji Sahrin bin Haji Kadih, Syariah Subordinate Court Judge.

 

His Majesty’s presence reflects the monarch’s openness and warm-heartedness to his subjects. His Majesty is an exemplary leader who focuses on the people’s welfare.
