Preschool Students Admission

The Pre-School Session for Government Primary Schools nationwide starts yesterday. This year, 2,968 students have been registered to attend preschool level studies in 116 primary schools in the country.

In preparation to help children with the start of school, the Ministry of Education through the Early Childhood Education Unit, UPAKK has implemented several initiatives including the Preschool Orientation Programme in November last year. RTB's crew taking a closer look at Dato Basir Primary School in Brunei Muara District, saw various students' characteristics on the first day of school. To ensure smooth learning sessions, various strategies have been lined up.

In Belait District, 427 students registered at 15 Government Primary Schools. Among the preparations conducted included a briefing with parents on the pre-school session. In addition, teachers are also required to prepare mentally and physically to face the challenges and difficulties of each student.

Meanwhile at the Tumpuan Telisai Primary School in Tutong District, parents dropped their children off as early as 7 in the morning. The Preschool Orientation Programme that was held before, helps and improves children's social skills so that they are better prepared to face the environment and adapt to the new daily school routine.

The preschool students who just started school at Labu Estate Primary School, were exposed to the learning atmosphere through an orientation programme last year. The joy of learning can be seen through the activities on the first day of school. The school equipment provided also motivates them to attend school.
