Philippines Faces Heat Wave, PAGASA Categorizes Eight Areas as ‘Dangerous’

MANILA - The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has identified eight areas in the country where the heat index will soar to 42-43°C, classifying them in the 'danger' category which poses serious health risks.

According to Philippines News Agency, these conditions, resulting from persistent easterlies, are likely to cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke if precautions are not taken. The affected areas include Dagupan City, Aparri, Tuguegarao, Dumangas, Zamboanga City, Cotabato City, Puerto Princesa City, and Aborlan. The agency also forecasted partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rain showers or thunderstorms across the country, urging the public to be prepared for sudden weather changes.
