The planting of two thousand trees campaign for the Ministry of Finance and Economy as well as its departments began yesterday. The campaign is held to support the green protocol guidelines that outlined measures that need to be implemented in order to reduce the carbon footprint. The event took place yesterday afternoon at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park, Jalan Lebuhraya Muara- Tutong. The campaign was participated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. The Green Protocol outlines the measures that need to be implemented to reduce the carbon footprint in public service premises with the efficient use of technology as well as the adoption of cost-saving measures in seven key elements namely, Energy usage; Water usage; Use of Paper; Use of Plastics; Waste Disposal Management, Official Event Management; and Tree Planting. Aside from that it is also aimed to raise awareness among the public servants in the government sectors.
