Brunei Authorities Fine Companies and Individuals for Illegal Dumping

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – In a recent enforcement effort titled ‘Operasi Bersih,’ the Municipal Department of Bandar Seri Begawan issued compound fines to two companies and three individuals for illegally dumping rubbish in public areas and paths.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the fines for such offences are capped at $1,000 for individuals and $2,000 for corporate bodies. The offenders have been given seven days to pay the fines. The Municipal Department has reiterated the importance of maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, safety, and well-being of Bandar Seri Begawan.
