12 compounds and 57 warning notices were issued by the Department of Competition and Consumer Affairs at the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS, Ministry of Finance and Economy, for the offence of selling above the maximum price of goods listed under the Seasonal Maximum Pricing 2022 for two months namely during the months of Ramadhan and Syawal 1443 Hijrah.
The compounds of $500 each were issued to Almaas Sendirian Berhad, Hama Department Store, Haula Trading Minimart, Hari-Hari Maju Enterprise, Hong Bee Trading Company, Roshney Alif Sendirian Berhad, Seri Yasra Enterprise Sendirian Berhad, Sifana Sendirian Berhad, Syarikat Affinna dan Anak-Anak, Syarikat Salha Aryssa, Quthairah Enterprise and Ya Nur Trading Company Sendirian Berhad.
Food items set at maximum prices are whole chicken, chicken eggs, meat, butter, margarine, ghee, flour and condensed, evaporated and cream milk. The Seasonal Maximum Pricing was implemented temporarily to cover daily expenses during the festive season.
