The Department of Islamic Religious Council, Ministry of Religious Affairs, yesterday morning, held the Pocket Money Presentation Ceremony to 8 new converts who were selected and met the requirements to obtain the Haj Fare Gift from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held at the Secretary Office of the Islamic Religious Council, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The pocket money was presented by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of Brunei Islamic Religious Council. $2,000 were received by each recipient. Aside from that, the new converts were also given Haj Fares from His Majesty according to the rate given to Government Officials. The expenditure was from the Asnaf Mualaf Tithe Money.
