By command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, it is hereby announced that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to realign and to change the name of Ministry of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry to Ministry of Energy in order for the Ministry to fully focus on energy affairs. Following the said changes, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has also consented all issues regarding industrial affairs to be incorporated into the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Furthermore, His Majesty also consented for the establishment of the Manpower and Employment Council (MPEC) to replace the Manpower Council (MPC) and to place the said council under the Prime Minister’s Office.
In conjunction with the changes, His Majesty also consented for the transfer of the following senior officers:
Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Industry), Ministry of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry to Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports; and Yang Mulia Dayang Tutiaty binti Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Industry), Ministry of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry to Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism as Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
The changing of Ministry’s name and the transfer of several senior officers are effective from Tuesday, 22nd of Rabiulawal, 1441 corresponding to 19th November 2019.
