Five Male Quran readers and one female reader will represent the Tutong District at the quarter finals of the National Level Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults which will be held next month. Selection at the district level took place this morning.
Eight readers took part in the district-level competition. The competition was conducted by the Imarah Section of the Mosque Affairs Department with the cooperation of the Tutong District Mosque Affairs Office and Members of the Kampung Penanjong Mosque Takmir Committee.
Prizes were presented by Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, Acting Tutong District Officer. The competition is hoped to improve the quality of Quran-reading of the Qari and Qariah besides finding new talent in the district.
