With various platforms such as “wikileaks”, the exposure of sensitive government data can compromise the work of public security agencies and the safety of their employees. The Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam touched on the Current challenges in the law, which included the area of data security faced surrounding confidentiality of data gathered and owned by government and quasi-governmental bodies. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Hairol Arni was speaking during the 9th Event of the Attorney General’s Chamber of Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and Singapore, TriAGC, yesterday morning. It was jointly-officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Hairol Arni, The Honourable Tan Sri Tommy Thomas, Attorney General of Malaysia and The Honourable Mr Lucien Wong, Attorney General of Singapore.
Themed “Law in the 21st Century : Challenges ahead and the way forward”, the event is hosted by the Attorney General’s Chamber of Brunei Darussalam. The 3 day Event, participated by more than 120 officers of the three Chambers, heard presentation on topics in various legal fields. The event held biennially aims to foster friendship through various programmes, workshops and in-house training.
