In the afternoon, His Majesty attended the 10th ASEAN-United Nations Summit which was held at IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Trade Centre, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. At the Summit His Majesty in the titah note that ASEAN Member States have benefited from their work together with the UN, especially in the area of sustainable development.

His Majesty also stresses that more could be done in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG's, such as in ensuring the quality of the environment, education, and healthcare, as well as in poverty alleviation, which would require collaboration at the national and regional levels, even with ASEAN having recorded significant socio-economic progress in the region. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

The Summit commenced with the Opening Remarks from His Excellency the Prime Minister of Thailand as Chairman of ASEAN.

In the titah at the Summit, His Majesty is pleased with efforts during Thailand's ASEAN Chairmanship to complement the work towards ASEAN's Community Vision 2025 with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In this regard, greater sharing of expertise and transfer of new technology would enable all countries to contribute towards tackling this global challenge, whereby the ASEAN region has experienced the damaging effects of climate change, which would worsen without an effective and concerted international response.

His Majesty also underscores the preservation of peace and stability in the region in order to ensure the success of all such efforts. To that end, His Majesty looked forward to continuing working with the UN in fostering trust and promoting Preventive Diplomacy. In ending the titah, His Majesty expresses confidence that the two sides could shape a more resilient and peaceful region.
