Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports voiced the matter at the Opening Ceremony of the Youth Empowerment Conference 2019 yesterday morning.

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports underlined several insights to empower the country's youth in three aspects. Firstly, by providing meaningful platforms. As the most important means for the nation to confront challenges and maximise opportunities in the future, it is significant that the the youth's voice is not only heard but also actively engaged in decision making. Secondly, the importance of promoting the wider society and intergenerational values. In this regard, the responsibility of the government and society are vital to ensure the youth will acquire the right skills to lead a fulfilling life. And thirdly, the significance of treating our youth with respect and humility.

With the theme, 'Own Your Future', the 2-day conference focuses on three central topics namely Global Mindset, Future of Work and Values participated by various speakers from local and international. Also present were His Excellency Richard Lindsay, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Brunei Darussalam and Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
