Two suspects were sentenced to imprisonment by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court after pleading guilty to two separate charges.
According to Inspector Mohammed Nagib bin Haji Alias, Berakas Police Station Criminal Investigation and Traffic Control Officer, the first case involved a Malaysian woman, 32-year old Paula Kathy Meran, who is charged under Section 406 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 for Criminal Breach of Trust. The case involved a sum of 2 thousand 902 dollars and 75 cents of a fast food company's money that has been used by the suspect for personal use and debt payment.
The suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment starting the 20th of this month. Meanwhile, the second case involved a local man who is charged under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 for theft. 34-year old Endy Sumardi bin Ibrahim was charged for stealing 5 tyres with rims from a workshop in Kampung Anggerek Desa. The suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one month imprisonment starting on the 20th of this month.
