It is sunnat or commendable that one give alms as a way to express gratitude for Allah's blessings. Sadaqqah or alms bring blessings and increase one's wealth, instil a sense of repentance and foster closer relations, compassion and sense of responsibility among people. The matter was the main point of the dawn talk during the Recreational Activity, Ziarah Ukuwah and Cleaning campaign held at Kampung Penanjong Mosque in Tutong yesterday morning.

The talk titled "Kelebihan Bersedekah" was delivered by Awang Noraffindy bin Norsabah, Mosque Affairs Officer at the mosque. The talk explained the special rewards and benefits of giving saddaqah or alms which teach people to be thankful, and unselfish, eliminates wrongs and minor sins as well as purifying the heart. Spending one's wealth in the name of Allah through the sadaqqah can endear one to Allah the Almighty. The rewards include multiple blessings and increased sustenance. Those who receive alms will be able to use it for their needs. The event was also attended by Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, the Tutong District Officer.
