In an effort towards better working relations between the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, the grass roots leaders and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Doctor) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs yesterday morning made a working visit to the Belait District. The visit coincided with meeting with Penghulu Mukim and Village Heads, Long House Chiefs as well as representatives of Mukim and Village Consultative Councils. The delegation also interacted with several Village Consultative Councils which make 'One Village, One Product' items.
The muzakarah or consultation aimed to provide and receive feedback for identifying problems or issues of mutual concern. The visit included the Teraja Long House, Labi Community Hall and a number of agricultural development sites and Kampung Mumong Village Consultative Council's Activities Centre. The ministerial delegation included Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries and the Belait District Officer.
