The Ministry of Health through the Health Promotion Centre and the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious yesterday held the Health Awareness Programme on Diabetes. The programme in conjunction with this year’s World Diabetes Day was highlighted with a briefing attended by 136 Primary 5 students of Pengiran Anak Puteri Mutawakillah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School in Kampung Serusop.
A briefing on diabetes, healthy lifestyle and healthy food choice was delivered by Dayang Azelina binti Pauzi, a Nursing Officer. The main objective of the programme is to raise awareness among students and parents on the importance of instilling healthy lifestyle since the early age so that children can learn more on diabetes and its impact as well as preventing them from becoming the victim of non-communicable diseases.
