Four men and a woman comprising of local citizens and permanent residents were apprehended during a raid on a SCR888 gambling activity. The raid was conducted by the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit, Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force at Kampung Katok B Landless Indigenous Housing Scheme in Gadong.
The police seized 5 computers containing gambling programmes and cash believed used in the gambling activity. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Aimi Safwan bin Zalidin, the case is being investigated under Section 4, offence of running a gambling place and Section 6 (1), offence of gambling of the Open House Gambling Act, Chapter 28. The Royal Brunei Police Force through the Criminal Investigation Department will constantly monitor, pursue and trace criminals who try to gain a foothold and conduct illegal activities in the country.
