Eight participants took part in the 8th Al-Quran Reading Competition for Mosque Officers Nationwide. The competition organised in conjunction with Diamond Jubilee of the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque was held last night at the mosque in the capital.

The competition aimed to improve mosque officer's Al-Quran reading quality apart from encouraging the daily reading of Al-Quran, the competition is also inline with the country's hope of making mosque as the centre to assimilate dakwah to the general public.

Prizes were presented by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. Awang Muhammad Rafi'uddin Bin Haji Ramli, a representative from the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque won the competition. While second place goes to Awang Haji Sudirman Bin Haji Metussin from Brunei Muara Mosque and Awang Haji Masri Bin Haji Mohammad from Tutong District Mosque bagged the third place.
