His Majesty's Government has made available an Open Government Data portal that has been active since 2014. Over 500 data sets are now available through the 'data.gov.bn' website portal where the public may freely view and download non-sensitive data related to the population, economy, social well-being and sectoral development among others. Therefore, the academic sector and the professional industry are encouraged to leverage on the Open Government Data initiative in bringing about new innovative solutions in an increasingly data-driven society. These matters were underlined by Awang Mohamed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohamed Yunos, Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the Prime Minister's Office at the opening of The 3rd Computational Intelligence in Information Systems International conference (CHS 2018) held yesterday morning.

Also present was Professor Doctor Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB. The three-day conference themed 'Data-Driven Innovation: New R&D Across Economy' was organised by the School of Computing and Informatics, UTB in cooperation with related institutions in the country. This year, over 41 submissions from 14 countries were received and after rigorous review 20 papers were accepted for the conference.
