According to statistics from the Department of Investigation and Traffic Control, Royal Brunei Police Force, in 2018, more than 50 percent of all accidents which led to road fatalities involved youths aged between 18 to 28 years old. Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad, member of the Legislative Council, who is also the Ambassador of the Brunei National Road Safety Council, MKKJR highlighted that there are still some drivers who do not wear seat belts while driving as well as the car safety seat for children. Yang Berhormat emphasised on the matter at the opening ceremony of the Honda Day Brunei 2018 event organised by Carfest Event Management yesterday morning. It took place at Bridex in Jerudong.

Yang Berhormat called on all drivers to deliver the safety message to their families and friends as a reminder. According to the Royal Brunei Police Force’s statistics, Yang Berhormat said, in 2017 alone, one thousand 373 cases recorded were of drivers who were not using seat belts.

The Honda Day Brunei event has attracted more than 300 participants from the country, as well as from Sabah, Sarawak dan Labuan. The event aimed at giving opportunity to enthusiasts in the country to show their talents through the car show.
