Touching on health for mothers and children as well as controlling communicable diseases, the Ministry of Health stated that Brunei Darussalam has achieved most of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
However, the Minister of Health said despite all the achievements, we should not be complacent as there are various challenges that can threat the nation’s health status. Therefore, in line with the vision ‘Together towards a Healthy Nation’, the Ministry of Health hopes for close cooperation from all parties including government agencies, private sector, Non-Government Organisations, as well as grassroot leaders in together shouldering the responsibility of maintaining public health and safety for the country’s prosperity and well-being.
Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, member of the Legislative Council as representative of the Legislative Council members in his return speech among other things stressed that the muzakarah session was focused on strategic issues that needs to be shared as it is important in together solving the people’s problem. Also present were Awang Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health; Doctor Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Professional at the Ministry of Health; and Awang Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Management at the Ministry of Health.
