The relationship and understanding between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea has become stronger and closer due to the Youth Exchange Program between the two countries. It is one of the programmes under the cooperation agreement on youth affairs signed between the governments of both countries on the 10th of February 2010.

10 Korean participants joining the Republic of Korea exchange program yesterday morning were celebrated in a reception ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. In attendance were Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; and Her Excellency Yoon Hyun-bong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam. The delegation, led by Kang Dongkeun, an officer from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea, will be in the country for 9 days. The programme among others will include interacting with local youth and study visits to several places such as the Youth Development Centre and Royal Regalia Museum, as well as spending time with their foster families for 2 days. The programme aims to foster friendship and understanding among the youth from both countries in a harmonious setting, aside from sharing and exchanging useful views and experiences from the perspectives of socio-economy, socio-politics, tradition and culture.
