The country's youths are reminded not to be easily influenced and steered away from the Bruneian mould and principles. Instead, they should adhere strongly to the Islamic Malay Monarchy or MIB concept and strengthen their Bruneian values and identity. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office said such attributes can nurture a strong sense of belonging and patriotism. The Minister was speaking during the launch of the Brunei Young Leaders Convention 2018 at the Centerpoint Hotel in Gadong yesterday morning. Yang Berhormat also urged the youths to equip themselves spiritually, mentally and physically with religious knowledge and noble practices, piety and strong faith which can ensure that they stay on the right path.

Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad, Member of the Legislative Council as the Chairman of the Convention among other things said, the convention is intended to support the Wawasan Brunei 2035 which has three main goals namely, educated, highly skilled and successful citizens, high quality of living as well as a dynamic and sustainable economy.

The event continued with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the mentors and sponsors. The 3-day convention is a platform for youths to learn, hold discussions and interact with the mentors and stake-holding agencies, besides seeking sources for finance, capacity and advices.

The keynote address on Wawasan Brunei 2 Thousand 35 explained aspects of the Wawasan's governance, framework and efforts at its implementation stage. The keynote address was delivered by Awang Muhd Aziman bin Haji Awang Nasir, Special Grade Administrative Officer of the Wawasan Brunei 2 Thousand 35 Permanent Sectretariat, the Prime Minister's Office.
