Two local men who were involved in a robbery on the 30th of last month have been apprehended by the Royal Brunei Police Force early this month. The Lamunin Police Station received a report on a robbery case at 11.30 in the evening at Bangunan Haji Yusof in Kampung Luagan Timbaran, Tutong District. In a press conference yesterday afternoon, Deputy Superintendent of Police Handrie bin Haji Amin, Assistant District Commanding Officer of Tutong Police explained that the two men trespassed the building, entered a shop and threatened two foreign nationals using a metal pole.

The suspect were 33-year old Faizal bin Rosli, and 42-year old Saiful Irwan bin Haji Simpol. With the suspects apprehended, the Royal Brunei Police Force identified that the two suspects were involved in 18 criminal cases in Brunei Muara and Tutong Districts. This include impersonation, robbery, trespassing and extortion. Assistant District Commanding Officer of Tutong Police added that the suspects targeted foreign nationals, where they introduced themselves as enforcement officers before robbing or extorting their victims. The suspects will be charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22. If found guilty, they will be sentenced to imprisonment of not more than 30 years, and not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
