An Egyptian religious scholar has been invited as the Invited Imam or Prayer leader to lead the Sunnah Tarawih prayers at selected mosques in the country. The cleric is invited on the initiative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs with the cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt through the republic's Ministry of Endowment.
Last night, Sheikh Hassan Metwally Abdel Rahman Sewify led the Sunat Tarawih at Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.
According to schedule, Sheikh Hassan Metwally led the Tarawih prayers at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital this evening. Members of the public are welcome to join the Tarawih prayers led Sheikh Hassan Metwally at the selected mosques. During Ramadhan, prayers and other religious acts performed in congregation, especially at the mosques will be blessed and rewarded more than in other months.
