The fasting month of Ramadhan is near. To enliven and glorify Islam's holy month, the young generation should be guided in knowledge and spiritual activities, especially on proper ways of performing the fast. In a related measure, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has organised the 'Ahlan Ya Ramadhan' or 'Welcome Ramadhan' Program.

The program was attended by Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. During the session, the attendees heard a talk titled, 'If This Was My Last Ramadhan' delivered by Awang Muhammad Fatin Abdul Rahman bin Kifli, Brunei Islamic Religious Council Appointed Daie. A Daie is a Muslim religious propagator or preacher. The talk touched on preparations to welcome Ramadhan by performing various religious acts including joining mass prayers at mosques, giving sadaqah or alms and reading Al-Quran.

More than 400 youths from a number of associations and institutes of higher learning attended the program. The activity coincided with the presentation of aid for Youth Ramadhan Project to the Alumni of the Youth Love the Country Program, Al-Huffaz Group, B Volunteer Group, WeCARE Association and Youth Transformation Community Club. The Welcome Ramadhan Program preludes religious activities and programs in the month of Ramadhan.
