A search and rescue operation is still ongoing following a report of a boat operator who is believed to be drowned after the boat crashed into metal poles located in front of the Royal Wharf surau in the capital. Currently, the Kampung Ayer Police Station is still investigating the incident.

Present at the location were Awang Haji Mohammad Sunardi bin Haji Buntar, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Retired Colonel Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said, Director of the National Disaster Management Centre, NDMC, and Acting Director of the Fire and Rescue Department. Two passengers were successfully rescued. The operation is carried out with the cooperation of the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Fire and Rescue Department, Marine Police, Marine Police Divers, and the Fire and Rescue Divers.
