S.O.P. At Mosques

The early Endemic Phase for mosques, suraus and religious halls will be carried out for a month, starting Wednesday the 15 of December 2021 to Friday the 14 of January 2022. According to the Minister of Religious Affairs, individuals aged 12 and above who have completed 2 doses vaccine, have not completed them or unvaccinated, are allowed to perform the Friday prayer and the five time daily prayer as well as participating in mosque takmir activities at mosques, suraus and religious halls. However, the Minister of Religious Affairs explained, for those who have not completed vaccination or unvaccinated are required to perform the Antigen Rapid Test, ART with negative result. Only male congregants are allowed to perform the Friday prayer while the five time daily prayer are allowed for male and female congregants.

 

Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs said that for the early endemic phase, the age limit for those allowed to perform the Friday prayer and five times daily prayer for men and women has been changed to 12 years old and above from 18 years old previously.

 

Slot bookings to perform Friday prayer are no longer needed, but the scanning of QR code are still required with BruHealth code coloured green and yellow. For those who have not completed vaccination or have not been vaccinated at all, they can still come to the mosque but are required to perform the ART test which is valid for two days. The test must be negative with no symptoms indicating infection.

 

Any form of Muslimah mosque activities are allowed with 50 percent capacity of the area. During the early endemic phase, the distance between two prayer mats are to be reduced to one feet. One have to bring along their own large -sized prayer mats, whereas ablution are to be carried out at home before going to the mosque. Face mask are to be worn, scan the QR code as well as conducting body temperature checks.
