Local Chef Wins Second Place in Malaysia Culinary World Cup

A local chef did the nation proud after winning Second Place in the Malaysia Culinary World Cup 2023 recently held in Kuala Lumpur. Organised by the Malaysia Bersatu Culinary Association, the three-day competition was held at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur.

Dayang Nooreen binti Awang Sapri competed in the "Kerabu Nenas" or pineapple salad category with her culinary creation "Kerabu Nenas Buah Delima". Chef Noreen, aged 42, is currently a Chef at British Forces Brunei. Having worked in the culinary field since the age of 24, the chef had set out to challenge herself by competing alongside more than 600 chefs from around the world.

Meanwhile, Dayang Rohana binti Mahmud, also known as Chef Ana, also did her country proud in the international arena as she was given the honour of being one of the juries in a number of categories at the competition, alongside other juries from around the world.

Chef Noreen and Chef Rohana are both currently planning to compete in the World Chefs Championship to be held in Johor in May this year.
