IMF Roundtable

The need to strengthen international cooperation to ensure vaccination for all and the importance of International Monetary Fund, IMF’s surveillance functions to support ASEAN in achieving financial stability and resilience in the region. The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy emphasised the matter at the IMF Roundtable which was held at the sidelines of the virtual Annual IMF-World Bank Meetings.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah in his capacity as the 2021 ASEAN Chair for Finance Track, also stressed on the need to prepare for the future, putting in place necessary eco-systems, infrastructures and connectivity which require large investments that call for partnership with the private sectors and multilateral development banks. Yang Berhormat also appreciated IMF’s efforts to secure recovery and ensure resilient international financial architectures. The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director.
