34 New COVID-19 Cases Reported

 

34 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday in Brunei Darussalam with 1 new cluster was detected namely Semporna Enak involving 9 cases. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-‘Afiah, Ministry of Health. Also joining the media conference was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

 

A new cluster has been detected involving 9 new cases today. The cluster is now known as the Semporna Enak Cluster. There are also additional new cases to the existing active clusters namely: 8 cases for Chung Hua KB Cluster; 4 cases for Al-Falah Cluster; 3 cases for ABCi Cluster; 2 cases TOTAL Cluster; and 1 case for Starlodge Cluster. 1 case is related with Case 362 while the other 2 cases are imported cases. They arrived in the country from Manila on the 28th of July 2021. Of the total cases reported today, 32 cases are local infections, including 4 cases whose source of infection is still unknown. Contact tracing for all new cases is still on-going. All identified close contacts will be instructed to undergo mandatory quarantine and SARS-CoV-2 RTPCR test. Meanwhile, 9 cases have recovered at the National Isolation Centre bringing the total of recovered cases to 314. There are 123 active cases currently being treated at the National Isolation Centre and all cases are in good condition.
