‘Kitani Peduli Temburong-Palestin’ Event

​In an effort to help Palestinians and provide opportunities for locals especially Temburong District residents to be active in entrepreneurship, a Car Boot Sale ‘Kitani Peduli Temburong-Palestine’ event was held yesterday morning. It was organised by the Mukim and Kampung Consultative Councils in Temburong District in collaboration with the Temburong District Office.

 

Apart from economic activities, also held were mini bazaar sales of food products and other activities such as colouring contests for children. Visitors are also encouraged to donate to the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund. Proceeds from the registration fee of the 25 participants in the event will be donated to the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund.

Library Fun Sale

​In an effort by the Language and Literature Bureau to make the library as a community centre, the Kampong Pandan Language and Literature Bureau in Kuala Belait, yesteday morning held a Library Fun Sale. The event was held at Kampung Pandan Language and Literature Bureau in Kuala Belait.

 

Seven small entrepreneurs participated in the event. Apart from making the library as a place of reference and borrowing books, the event is also intended to make it a community centre to provide opportunities for the public to share skills and expertise. The fun sale was also enlivened with the children activities provided by the Kampong Pandan Language and Literature Bureau.

Launching of Al-Quran Reading Ceremony

​75 participants comprising Kampung Batu Marang Mosque Takmir Committee and Muslimah took part in the launching of Al-Quran Reading for Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Present was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Zaini bin Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin, the Mosque Takmir Advisor. The ceremony began with the mass reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by holy verses.

Code for Fun Programme

​The Code for Fun programme was among the event lined up for the Digital Technology Week Programme in conjunction with MICE 2021.

 

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, AITI conducted the programme as one of the learning initiatives to support the development of computational thinking skills and programming in a practical and fun way for students at the primary school level to learn the basics of coding by using smart devices. The trainee for this programme was Edu Champ Academic Tuition School.

Cyber Battle Event

​Meanwhile, the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition or MICE 2021 was filled with Digital Technology Week Programme. The programme was organised by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Universiti Teknologi Brunei and InfoCom Federation Brunei. It was highlighted with the 6th edition of Cyber Battle: Capture the Flag, CTF by Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam AITI and IT Protective Security Services Sendirian Berhad, ITPSS.

 

Present was Ingenieur Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. 10 teams competed in the finals of the cyber battle. APT9000 emerged champion of the competition. Prizes were presented by Haji Sufian bin Sabtu, Director of Internal Security Department as ITPSS Chairman of the Board of Directors.

 

ITPSS also held public presentation by experts and professional of local cybersecurity on various cybersecurity topics including Careers in Cybersecurity; Video Forensic in a Nutshell and Internet of Vulnerable Things, IoVT.

Forum on Driving the Innovation Ecosystem

Universiti Teknologi Brunei in partnership with Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd yesterday morning organised a forum on Driving the Innovation Ecosystem. The forum was held in conjunction with the Crown Prince CIPTA Award 2021 and to conclude the CIPTA 2021 Seminar Series. It took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

 

In attendance was Ingenieur Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. Four prominent panelists contributed at the forum including Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB. The speakers among others shared their invaluable insights and brainstorm ideas together on how to drive the innovation ecosystem. The forum is part of the Digital Technology Week at Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition or MICE initiated by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

COVID-19 Moderna Vaccine

​50,400 doses of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine has safely arrived in Brunei Darussalam from Spain. It is the first batch out of the 200 thousand doses of COVID-19 Moderna vaccine procured by the Ministry of Health.

 

The Brunei Darussalam Medicines Control Authority, BDMCA, has verified the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine following a stringent scientific assessment process by the National COVID-19 Vaccines Technical Committee. The BDMCA has granted Special Authorisation to administer the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine in Brunei Darussalam during Public Health Emergency or Pandemic situation.

 

The COVID-19 Moderna vaccine will be offered to all citizens and residents in Brunei Darussalam in phases. The Ministry of Health would like to remind individuals who would like to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection to reserve a slot using the BruHealth app.

Under 15 Football Match

​The DPMM FC Football Fanfare 2021 was highlighted with the under 15 football matches. Among the participated teams were Warriors; DPMM FC ‘A’; DPMM FC ‘B’;  IKLSMB5 FC; Jerudong International School; Dash Football Academy; Bang Dalam FC; Striking Stars; and Wijaya FC. Among those who joined the match was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s son, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim who joined the Warriors Football team. Yesterday afternoon’s match saw DPMM FC ‘A’ team advanced to the final and faced DPMM FC ‘B’.

 

Warriors team participated by Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim lost to Bang Dalam by 2-NIL.

 

In a match against Jerudong International School, Warriors was tied in a one-all draw.

 

In another match against, DPMM FC ‘B’, both teams ended the game in a goalless draw.

 

Warriors team also lost to IKLSMB5 FC.

 

In the final match, DPMM FC ‘A’ which was participated by His Majesty’s grandson, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb lost to DPMM FC ‘B’ by 3-1.

 

Also present was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

DPMM FC Football Fanfare 2021

​His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday afternoon presented prizes to winners of the under-15 tournament during the DPMM FC Football Fanfare 2021. 9 teams participated in the tournament held at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium.

 

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as the Chairman of DPMM FC, firstly presented the top scorer prize to Safwan Zawawi from DPMM FC ‘A’ football team who scored 5 goals.

 

Meanwhile, Awangku Mohammad Syafiq Hilmi bin Pengiran Mohammad Shahrom, also from DPMM FC ‘A’, won the Best Player prize.

 

His Royal Highness then presented the prizes to the third-placed team, Jerudong International School and the runner-up team, DPMM FC ‘B’.

 

The champion was DPMM FC ‘A’ football team which was participated by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s grandson, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Liala Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim.

 

Prior to departure, His Royal Highness mingled with DPMM FC players for 2021 season who are taking part in Brunei Super League. 15 teams are taking part in Brunei Super League 2021 held, started yesterday, 20th June.
