Sungai, LAUT Dan KiTA Poetry Anthology Obtains Sea Write Award

‘Kumpulan Sajak Sungai, LAUT dan KiTA’ or Sungai, LAUT dan KiTA Poetry Anthology written by a local writer is the Recipient of Southeast Asia, SEA Write Award for Brunei Darussalam in 2021. The Language and Literature Bureau, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Research, Documentation and Recognition Division acts as the Secretariat of the SEA Write Award for Brunei Darussalam. Each award recipient selected by a panel of judges in their respective countries, is judged based on their published works according to the genre set by the organizers in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Venturing in writing in 1973 in various genres such as radio, television and stage drama, short stories, poetry, essays and critiques, Doctor Haji Morsidi bin Haji Muhamad or his pen name Morsidi MH, was selected and recognized to receive the prestigious award. The Sungai, LAUT and KiTA Poetry anthology contains 99 pages, among others, displaying lessons that are the core of the journey so that you can make sense of life and self-introspect.

 

The SEA Write Award is a major appreciation towards regional national literature. Not only can it raise and honour the writers of the respective countries, it also encourages the writers of the regional countries to continue to be active in producing literary works as well as community matters which contribute to the progress and success of the Malay literature.
