Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OIC member states were urged to collectively move forward together with organizations working in the field of youth and sports; and to urgently implement the initiatives in shaping the future ready youth and inclusive sporting ecosystem by maximizing opportunities from the 4th Industrial Revolution. The matter was stressed by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports at the 5th Session of Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The conference themed 'Youth and Sports Development for Solidarity – Based Ummah'.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Haji Mohamad shared Brunei Darussalam's strategy in creating opportunities and empowerment for youth and sports development. Among them the importance of youth participation in policy and decision making process at the national and international levels and shared Brunei Darussalam's efforts in engaging the youth, and the commitment of Brunei Darussalam to facilitate and promote inclusivity through the sports-for-all approach as a way to unite not only youths but the community at large.

During the conference, the ministers and high-level representatives of OIC responsible for youth and sports, adopted the Omnibus Resolution on Youth and Sports and Declaration of the 5th Session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports. The conference was hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Azeez bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
