The culmination of the Finals of the National Musabaqah Al-Quran for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 was the prize presentation ceremony. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the prizes.
Upon arrival at the International Convention Centre, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as Chairman of the Musabaqah Al-Quran for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 Executive Committee.
Also in attendance were His Majesty’s sons and brothers:
– His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office;
– His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik;
– His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen;
– His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;
– His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah;
– And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti.
In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Religious Affairs highlighted that the National Musabaqah Al-Quran for Adults became a part of important events in religious event schedules organised by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. It is part of a landmark that highlights the special and important position of Islam as the country’s official religion.
Awang Mohammad Zul-Hafiz bin Awang Tengah and Dayang Hajah Nurfaezah binti Haji Emran emerged as Qari and Qariah champions of this year’s National Musabaqah Al-Quran for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021.
