Bea Bell Dominates Second Leg of 2023 Philracom Juvenile Stakes at Metro Manila Turf Club

Malvar, Batangas – Top favorite Bea Bell emerged as the winner of the second leg of the 2023 Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) Juvenile Stakes Series held at the Metro Manila Turf Club on Sunday.

According to a new by Philippines News Agency, the grey filly, trained by Donato Sordan and sired by He's Had Enough out of Tocqueville, secured the win by a margin of approximately seven lengths. Coming in second was Melaine Habla's Morning After, followed by Over Azooming and Heartening To See. Jockey Jonathan Hernandez spoke highly of Bea Bell after the race, stating that the horse was "cool-headed" and had "a lot of running to do."

The win added PHP1,080,000 to Bea Bell’s career earnings. Professional volleyball player Bea de Leon, along with her father and breeder of Bea Bell, Elmer Thomas de Leon of Bell Racing Stables, received the owner's trophy.

Philracom Chairman Reli de Leon congratulated the team behind Bea Bell, including Bea and Elmer de Leon, trainer Donato Sordan, and jockey Jonathan Hernandez. He noted that racing aficionados may have witnessed the emergence of the next track superstar. Bea Bell is also now considered the strongest contender for next year's Triple Crown Series, according to Philracom Chairman Reli de Leon.
