ASEAN-Korea Centre Capacity Development Workshop

​The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department further enhances cooperation with the ASEAN-Korea Centre, AKC through the ASEAN-Korea Centre Capacity Development Workshop, in an effort to achieve the national vision of sustainable, resilient and inclusive growth for the tourism industry with the implementation of digital strategies and solutions. The workshop was held on 29th Novemnber morning, with the theme, ‘Rethinking Tourism: How Businesses can adopt Digital Strategies to transform the tourism industry’.

 

Dayang Hajah Dahliana binti Haji Aliakbar, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in her speech underlined that digital transformation is currently changing all aspects of life and it is timely that tourism stakeholders adapt it through the advancement of digital technology, equipping themselves with basic skills in managing business for a sustainable and resilient industry in the future. Among those present was His Excellency Kim Hae-yong, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre.

 

The workshop was highlighted with several seminar topics by Korean tourism experts who shared, how to attract the Korean market through online tools and addressing challenges and implementing innovative and digital solutions in business. About 70 people participated in the workshop, consisting of officials from the Tourism Development Department, hospitality, higher education institutions, travel agents and related stakeholders in the country.
