ASEAN Digital Public Health

 

Digitalisation efforts have taken on an important role and have gained increasing attention, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic where digital transformation efforts have been intensified. Brunei Darussalam has taken a holistic and coordinated approach to driving the digital transformation of healthcare system. The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Professional at the Ministry of Health stated the matter in a keynote address at the 2nd ASEAN Digital Public Health, DPH Conference yesterday morning at The Empire Brunei.

 

With the title ‘Brunei Darussalam’s Digital Healthcare Transformation’, Doctor Ang Swee Hui also said with the COVID-19 transitioning from a pandemic to an endemic phase, Ministry of Health work with EVYD Technology to repurpose the contact tracing BruHealth application into a national and individual health management application to improve health outcomes for Bruneians.

 

The conference continued with a ‘Fireside Chat’ session titled Leveraging Digital Technology in Field Epidemiology by four panel speakers. The session discussed the considerations and opportunities in collaborating with tech companies and explore ways technology has helped in infectious disease control. ​
