Antigen Rapid Testing
The Ministry of Health informs that the Antigen Rapid Testing, ART has been implemented for transport operators at all land border control posts in the country. The testing, which began since Monday, 26th of July 2021, aimed to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus easily, quickly and acts as a preventive measure from the transmission of COVID-19 infection in the country. The Ministry of Health stressed that individuals who have obtained the COVID-19 vaccine and meet the criteria for entry into the country will still need to undergo the ART. ART is an antigen test for individuals who are entering the country either transport operators or for transiting. The testing is mandatory and will be conducted daily by the said operators and witnessed by Ministry of Health personnel stationed at control posts.
The ART result will be available after 10 minutes and the result for a negative ART is only valid for the day of visit. Transport operators will be required to repeat the test again the following day upon re-entry into the country.
For Brunei Darussalam transport operators, upon receiving positive ART result, they will be isolated immediately for further tests. Meanwhile for foreign transport operators, they will not be allowed entry into Brunei Darussalam if their ART result is positive. At the same time, the RT-PCR test for all local and foreign transport operators continues according to the set schedule.
