51st ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting

The implementation of transport-related initiatives under the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework ACRF as well as the status of cooperation with the Dialogue Partners are among those discussed during the 51st ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting, STOM. The 2 day meeting which was held via video conference ended yesterday.

 

Present was Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport And Infocommunications. The meeting among others discussed the outcome of the negotiations on the ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement, ASEAN-EU CATA which was agreed during the Special Meeting of Senior Transport Officers of ASEAN and the European Union on ASEAN-EU CATA on the 2nd June 2021. The ASEAN-EU CATA Agreement is the world’s first bloc-to-bloc air services agreement held for the first time.

 

The 51st STOM was chaired by Mr. Chheing Pich, Director-General, General Department of Logistics, Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia in his capacity as Chairman of the ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting (STOM) in 2021. The outcomes of the 51st STOM would be followed by the 52nd STOM to finalise the Annual Priorities/Key Deliverables for Transport in 2021 for the consideration of the 27th ASEAN Transport Ministers (ATM) Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in November 2021.
