The 42nd AIPA General Assembly which convened for three days approved 25 resolutions discussed at the Political, Social, Economic, Organizational and Women in Parliament Committees which were agreed in a Joint Statement signed by the Heads of AIPA Delegation Members. The approved agendas are on relevant regional and international issues of mutual interest. The 42nd AIPA General Assembly hosted by the Legislative Council was closed yesterday afternoon, with the Second Plenary Session which ran concurrently with the Closing Ceremony and online ‘Transfer of Office’.
The conference was chaired by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, President of the 42nd AIPA and Speaker of the Legislative Council, who in his speech stated that the 42nd AIPA General Assembly was successfully held with productive and conducive discussions, held in the spirit of friendship, unity and cooperation with ASEAN member states. The issues discussed have outlined parliamentary cooperation and demonstrated the commitment of AIPA parliamentarians in the ASEAN Community development process in achieving lasting peace, stability and prosperity for the people of the region. The Closing Ceremony concluded with the Handover Ceremony to the next host country, Cambodia.
