Re-Opening Of Child Care Centres

Child Care Centres will resume operations in stages during the Endemic Phase in the COVID-19 Recovery Framework commencing 17th of January 2022. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports informed the matter during the Media Conference on the latest situation of COVID-19.

The Minister said that the decision was made based on the agreement of the COVID-19 Steering Committee and online research outcome conducted in collaboration between the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Health participated by more than 11 thousand 500 parents nationwide. From the respondents, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports took note that the majority has agreed to the need to re-open the Child Care Centres in January 2022. The re-opening aims to provide space and opportunity specifically for working parents to send their children to the centre during working hours.
