Pangasinan Police Confiscate P8.8 Million in Illegal Drugs in First Quarter

PANGASINAN — The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) reported the seizure of PHP8.8 million worth of illegal drugs during the first quarter of the year, spanning from January 1 to March 31.

According to Philippines News Agency, during a phone interview on Tuesday, the police force captured PHP8.5 million worth of shabu, totaling 1,253 grams, and PHP319,440 worth of marijuana, weighing 2,662 grams.

The operations led to the arrest of 280 suspects involved in drug-related activities, while 14 others surrendered voluntarily. The PPPO filed cases against all individuals apprehended during their 224 anti-drug operations. One significant operation on March 23 in Rosales town resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old male from Navotas City, who was caught with nearly 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately PHP3.4 million.

The Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO-1) has classified the individual as a high-value target due to the significant quantity of drugs involved in the transactions.
