Cotabato City - The Al-Qhalid Farmers Marketing Cooperative (AFMC) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur, is providing relief to around 600 needy families by selling rice at a discounted rate during Ramadan.

According to Philippines News Agency, Lawyer Suharto Ambolodto, a member of the Bangsamoro region parliament, reported that the cooperative, supported by the Al-Rahman Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, is selling "Ramadan rice" at PHP45 per kilo, significantly lower than the market price. This initiative is part of the Bigasan ng Bangsamorong Magsasaka (BBM) Rice Project, aimed at supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s mission to reduce rice prices and enhance food security in the region, especially in areas affected by conflict and displacement.
