Istighfar or reciting religious verses a multitude of times is one of the important matters in that can open up doors filled with blessings. Istighfar is the source of increased blessings and good fortune. This was among the matters underscored by the Deputy State Mufti at the launch of the book entitled ‘Rezeki dan Hutang: Tadzkirah, Doa dan Amalan’ or Good Fortune and Debt: Short Talks, Supplications and Practice.
Apart from istighfar, Dato Seri Setia Doktor Awang Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain@Maidin also explained that the attitude of obeying Allah’s commandments is also a vital factor in opening up the doors of good fortune. When good fortune has increased, this will free society from debt. Dato Seri Setia added that according to syarak law, debt must be paid immediately once there is capability regardless of the debt amount. Delaying debt payment on purpose is cruel and this shows that being in debt is not only a burden on the world but also in the hereafter if the debt is not settled. Therefore, muslims are advised to avoid from being in debt except if it is truly needed.
The book, discusses the issue of good fortune and debt from the Islamic perspective. Equipped with a number of practices, zikir and supplications for good fortune, the book also explained on why a number of good fortunes are lost. The book, published by the State mufti department can be bought at the department itself at $3.00 per copy. Its publication is a collaboration of the State Mufti department and Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of Perbadanan TAIB.
