A fire ravaged four houses in Kampong Burong Pingai Ayer, 16th October night. Taking a closer look at the site were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The observation was carried out to hear information on the latest status and actions taken by government agencies in assisting the affected residents towards maintaining their well-being and safety. Also visited was Sungai Kebun Sports Complex, the temporary settlement for the affected villagers. Following the incident, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Department of Community Development, JAPEM has provided assistance in the form of food rations and some daily necessities to the affected families.
