Financial assistance rates will be divided into 2 categories, that is, for those who are unmarried or single, assistance will be provided as much as $250 per month. Those who are married, $250 per month will be given with an additional $50 per month for each dependent including spouse and up to 4 children under 18 years old only, who are not receiving any allowance from the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, such as student allowance, welfare allowance from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports or the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB.
Applications for this assistance will only be made by either the parent or guardian. Assistance will be provided for three months starting 1st September 2021. Any inquiry regarding the financial assistance application can be made via email covid19.assistance@mofe.gov.bn or contact the TAP Call Center at 2382800 or 2382929 for application procedure inquiry and contact the Treasury Department at 8191000 for payment inquiry. The applicant will be notified via SMS regarding the status of the application and payment. The interim actions conducted by the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam act as a reminder for businesses not to terminate employees specifically locals and for the employer to not misuse the facilities provided by the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
