Arellano University Secures Key Victory Over Emilio Aguinaldo College in NCAA Women’s Volleyball

SAN JUAN, Philippines — Arellano University enhanced its chances of reaching the semifinals in the NCAA Season 99 women's volleyball tournament by overcoming Emilio Aguinaldo College on Friday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre. The team won in a closely contested match, scoring 24-26, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

According to Philippines News Agency, Pauline de Guzman led Arellano with a strong performance, scoring 17 points, including 16 from attacks, and contributing 10 digs during the nearly two-hour game. Laika Tudlasan added 15 points, Harem Ceballos contributed 11 points along with 11 digs and seven receptions, and Dodee Risa Batindaan secured 10 points. Setter Donnalyn Mae Paralejas provided 18 excellent sets, while Khey Aleck Pablo played a key defensive role with 15 receptions and 11 digs.

The loss was particularly tough for Emilio Aguinaldo College, which remained winless after eight games. Cathrine Almazan and Alessandra Razonable each scored 19 points for the Lady Generals in their continued efforts to seek a win this season.

In another match, Mapua University also maintained its semifinal hopes by edging out Lyceum of the Philippines University in a five-set thriller, 21-25, 25-19, 26-28, 25-16, 15-13. Roxie dela Cruz led Mapua with 20 points and 17 excellent digs, and was supported by Raissa Janel Ricablanca with 18 points and Alyana Nicole Ong with 16 points, including crucial blocks and aces. Meanwhile, Lyceum's Johna Denise Dolorito stood out with 25 points and 17 excellent digs, despite the loss.
