Ahmad Darwish bin Hamdan from Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School, Mulaut and Nurul Fatihah Fitriah binti Asnan from Bokok Religious School Temburong, each won the boys and girls category in Al-Quran Reading Competition for Alif category or Tarannum. While the 55th Al-Quran Interpretation Religious Talk Competition was won by Noor Rusyazuan bin Noor Riduan from Pelambayan Religious School and Dayangku Damia Bazla binti Pengiran Muhammad Faisal from Mulaut Religious School respectively. The competition organised by Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs for religious school pupils took place yesterday morning at the Lambak Kanan Religious School.

The Quran reading competition was participated by 6 boys and 6 girls. It aimed to educate, hone the talent, assimilate as well as foster the interest of pupils in the Quran reading and thus, it can produce Qari and Qariahs at the national and international level.

The prizes were presented by Hajah Norjarah binti Haji Luidin, Acting Assistant Director for Professional at the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
