His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has conferred the State Decoration of "The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang", First Class DPKT which brings the title "Dato Paduka Seri" to Yang Berbahagia General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Chief of Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces. The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday afternoon.
The State Decoration was awarded to the Chief of Malaysian Armed Forces in recognition of his deeds and service in enhancing military relations between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). Under his leadership, bilateral interactions and cooperation between RBAF and MAF have steadily grown and developed. Both Armed Forces engage frequently in a wide range of activities which include professional interactions, courses, and bilateral exercises. These extensive exchanges have enhanced the camaraderie and friendship between the personnel of both Armed Forces.
Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
After the Investiture Ceremony, His Majesty received in audience the Chief of Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces. Also present during the Audience Ceremony were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Second Minister of Defence; and Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of RBAF.
